Executive Director

 

 

The New Reidsville Housing Authority (TNRHA), located in Reidsville, NC, is seeking a highly qualified candidate for the position of Executive Director.  The candidate must have experience in the administration and management of a public housing authority. 

 

TNRHA administers 226 Housing Choice Vouchers and 100 units of Public Housing with an annual operating budget across all programs of approximately $2.3 million and a staff of 7 full-time equivalent employees.  The Housing Authority Board of Commissioners is comprised of 7 members, each appointed by the City Council.

 

The successful candidate will direct, supervise, plan, maintain, and coordinate all activities and operations of the Authority.  Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to property management, procurement, capital planning, personnel management, budgeting, finance, and grant management.  The successful candidate will also be responsible for monitoring and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and statutes as well as Authority policies and procedures.

 

The salary is negotiable and will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience.

Accounts Payable/Receivable Clerk

The New Reidsville Housing Authority is seeking a highly motivated, professional, responsible individual for part-time employment (20 hours per week) as an Accounts Payable/Receivable Clerk. The position will be responsible for assisting with accounts payable and receivable, assisting with internal and external financial reporting, and general accounting.  

 

Responsibilities of this position may include the following:

  • Assisting with the completion of payments and expenses by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices.

  • Assisting with paying vendors while monitoring contracts, verifying federal id numbers, tax exemption and scheduling and preparing checks

  • Assisting with maintaining accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions

  • Ensuring payments are processed in compliance with TNRHA policies and procedures

  • Assisting with monitoring and analyzing reports and metrics to ensure accordance with budgets and grant management.

  • Performing various data entry functions, including daily rent posting. 

  • Maintaining accurate records for all transactions in compliance with TNRHA policies and procedures

  • Ability to work with third party accountants and auditors to complete monthly, quarterly, and annual financial schedules, reporting, and audits.

  • General knowledge of HUD Housing Choice Voucher, Public Housing, other relevant HUD/federal/state programs

  • Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.

 

Qualifications:

  1. High School graduate or equivalent with a minimum of two (2) years’ experience working in a related field.

  2. Attention to detail; ability to multi-task while staying organized.

  3. Adept at using Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook, and ability to quickly learn computer software programs.

Administrative Assistant

The New Reidsville Housing Authority is seeking a highly motivated, professional, responsible individual for part-time employment (20 hours per week) as an Administrative Assistant. The ideal candidate will enjoy and excel at providing outstanding customer service to residents, program, participants, vendors and the general public. 

 

Responsibilities of this position may include the following:

  • Receiving guests entering the office; acknowledging people with appointments and informing appropriate staff that they are there

  • Informing potential applicants of housing programs administered and how to apply

  • Answering telephone and directing calls to the appropriate staff

  • Possessing a working knowledge of eligibility requirements of Public Housing, Housing Choice Voucher Programs, and other programs administered by the Housing Authority

  • Receiving incoming mail, sort, and distribute to appropriate staff; Taking outgoing mail to post office

  • Assisting program participants with completion of forms/paperwork

  • Assisting administrative employees as needed in general office tasks such as making copies or assembling packets; filing; sorting

  • Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.

 

Qualifications:

  1. High School graduate or equivalent

  2. Excellent customer service, written and oral communication skills

  3. Attention to detail; ability to multi-task while staying organized.

  4. Adept at using Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook, and ability to quickly learn computer software programs.

  5. Must be willing to learn Public Housing and Housing Choice Voucher program guidelines
