Program Coordinator
North Star Children's Initiative
The New Reidsville Housing Authority (NRHA) is seeking to fill the position of Program Coordinator for the North Star Children's Initiative (NSCI). NRHA provides a pipeline of services for children, from birth through high school. The goal of the NSCI is that every child in the geographically focused area completes high school ready for college or a career. The Program Coordinator position is integral to connecting families at Park View Village to services. This is a grant-funded position.
Primary Scope of Work:
The Program Coordinator will carry out North Star Children's Initiative goals and objectives, as well as other duties assigned by the New Reidsvlle Housing Authority Executive Director. The Program Coordinator is responsible for developing and fostering communication and engagement between parents and/or caregivers, and services provided through the NSCI.
Specific tasks of the Program Coordinator include, but are not limited to the following:

Develop and conduct recreational and other activities for youth and assist in recruiting volunteers.

Coordinate a Summer Enrichment Program for youth for up to 50 youth.

Contact and connect residents to community services, focusing on services for families and for youth.

Recruit families into NSCI and partner programs

Actively seek grant opportunities and share them with The New Reidsville Housing Authority Executive Director

Assist with and/or arrange supervision for children during after-school tutoring sessions

Organize field trips for youth residents and chaperones and provide transportation for participants as required.

Maintain daily records of participation for all programs.
Minimum Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess prior experience in working with family and youth populations and be resourceful and knowledgeable of local community resources and services specific to those populations. Candidates should possess strong interpersonal, organizational, and computer skills and be committed to the mission of the North Star Children's Initiative. Candidates must have the ability to work flexible hours including some evenings and weekends.

Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screening
The salary is commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
