OUR MISSION

It is the mission of the New Reidsville Housing Authority to provide decent, affordable housing for low-income, elderly, homeless, and special needs residents of Reidsville and Rockingham County, North Carolina.

We ask all of our residents to abide by the same basic responsibilities: that of paying rent, sharing responsibility for maintaining the property, and allowing everyone to peacefully enjoy their community.  It is the goal of our organization to always serve with respect, fairness, and confidentiality, and actively involve and partner with other organizations when appropriate, to improve the quality of life for members of our community.

PUBLIC HOUSING

The Public Housing waiting list is always open and accepts applications for 1-5 bedroom units at Parkview Village.  The Housing Authority is located at 924 Third Avenue, Reidsville, NC,  27320.

(SECTION 8) HOUSING CHOICE VOUCHER PROGRAM

The agency has a total of 220 Section 8 vouchers which may be utilized anywhere within Rockingham County.  When the waiting list is opened again, applicants will be placed on the existing waiting list.  

 

Unlike public housing, which is owned and maintained by the housing authority, Section 8 participants are provided a voucher and may seek their housing anywhere in the private sector.  Tenants with vouchers must pay their own security deposit but based on income, the housing authority picks up the balance of the bill.

 

Applicants must be at least 18 years old, pass a criminal background check and provide landlord references.
